Thank God for Dr. Loftus! For the first time in my life I developed a Status Migraine which in general are resistant to the usual pain meds and typically send people straight to the ER. Dr. Loftus came with high praise from family members who are longtime patients of his and who travel from out of town and even out of the country for their appointments with him. Thankfully, I was able to schedule an emergency appointment. Not only did Dr. Loftus treat me as though I had been one of his patients for years, he also worked tirelessly to make me pain free, often times checking on my pain level on the weekend. Fortunately he was also able to keep me out of the ER by treating me directly in his office. When I shared with my internist all of Dr. Loftus’ very thorough medical notes, he assured me that I would be hard pressed to find the care and treatment I received with in an office setting, especially in such an immediate manner. He also assured me that Dr. Loftus was clearly very skilled, very smart and extremely dedicated to helping his patients find the appropriate treatments for the specialized care of migraines. I feel grateful every day to Dr. Loftus to be able to say that I am now on the road to a speedy recovery from this difficult experience and well on my way to getting back to a pain-free life. Dr. Loftus and staff truly do make me feel like family, as if I am their only patient. I know this is by design. Thank you for making me feel like my pain, my headaches and mostly—my comfort and my relief are important to you. I cannot tell you how much relief that provides in and of itself. After 30 years of migraines, I’ve heard it all, and I’d felt like I had tried it all. You get depressed from the pain and from the disappointment and the lack of understanding from loved ones and colleagues. You have guilt for complaining “again”—- when you’re “fine” by all the tests, for which you are grateful, but part of you wishes you could point to an image and say, “See, there it is! That’s the thing that is so painful, it feels like it’s going to kill me, like it actually might— on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.” You struggle with anxiety over making plans— maybe you won’t be able to make it to this event or meeting. Once the pain hits, you struggle with crippling anxiety along with that pain that it may last an hour, a day or a even few days— while every minute of that time is excruciating enough simply from the pain. ER docs don’t usually have the care or capacity to help you so there is no use in going there. Most doctors will pass you along, because you’re just “too much”— Well, I want to say that MIGRAINES ARE TOO MUCH. Thank you Dr. Loftus, thank you Blakeley and staff— for being people who strive to make a difference in the lives of your patients. You know just how “much” all of this “too much” really is! I cannot tell you what a difference you have made to me and to my family the past few years. You have changed my life; you have looked at my migraines from every angle. You know that what helps these ten patients may not help this one, and while you’re so happy for the ten— you, Doc, are the guy who really worries about the one. Treatments actually ARE progressing every day, and Dr. Loftus is right on top of them.

Dr. Loftus is the 6th neurologist I have been to and the 1st to help with my migraines. I would highly recommend. He has also helped (encouraged) me to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. His office staff is always calm, helpful and friendly and I don’t have to wait, always in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Experiencing a horrible migraine can not only be painful, but debilitating as well. My last visit, this was the case. Dr. Loftus and his staff got me in to the “rescue room” right away. I was incapable of driving myself to his office I was in so much pain. After being treated by Dr. Loftus and staff, my migraine was on its way out the door!
